Hazelwood Cemetery is owned and maintained by the City of Bayport and is located adjacent to St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. For questions, pricing, or to schedule a gravesite purchase or burial, please contact City Hall.

Gravesite Purchase & Burial Options

Hazelwood Cemetery offers two types of burial options:
  • Traditional gravesites accommodate a casket and/or multiple cremains
  • Cremains gravesites are designed for a single cremation burial

To check availability or schedule an appointment to discuss gravesite locations, please contact City Hall.

Burial Arrangements

If you already own a gravesite and are planning a burial, please know that casket burials must be requested at least 5 business days in advance. Cremation burials must be requested at least 2 business days in advance. Burials are scheduled Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) and must take place before 3:00 p.m. Saturday burials may be arranged for an additional fee. Funeral directors typically coordinate arrangements with the city on behalf of the family. If you are planning a private service or burial, please contact City Hall to schedule an appointment.

Grounds & Gravesite Maintenance

The city maintains the general grounds of the cemetery, including lawn mowing, tree trimming, and snow removal and provides water spigots for use at individual gravesites. Gravesite owners/visitors are responsible for maintaining the headstone and plantings and abiding by the following guidelines:
  • Natural wreaths are allowed from November 1 through March 1
  • Live plants and flowers must be placed in an approved urn stand
  • Mementos are not allowed, except for a U.S. flag (maximum 36 inches in height)
